• Cheryl is a pure ANGEL! For being a first time mom, I wasn't quite sure how I wanted my birth story to be. I loved the idea of a home birth but also didn't know if I would want an epidural if things got painful. She supported me with all options all the way up to game time. She answered every question I could think of (which was a LOT). When I went into labor she was with me every step of the way, whether it was texting and calling during early labor, driving to my house to check on me and the baby to when it was finally time. My birth story ended up being perfect, thanks to Cheryl. She goes above and beyond from beginning to end. I was well prepared for birth because of her. Every baby I have I want her apart of my story.

  • It's been 3 months since we had our baby girl (already!) but the whole family still talks about how our beautiful birth was and how wonderful our birth team was. My midwife Cheryl and doula Angie taught me how enjoyable birthing experience can be. I just absolutely love everything about Cheryl. Her professionalism, positive attitude, calm energy, her holistic approach to birth-- you name it! When my water broke but my contractions didn't start for a long time, Cheryl didn't hesitate to come to help me physically, mentally and spiritually. When my labor finally begun I would just look at her face and felt so positive and confident in my bodies abilities. It's so incredible how she knows exactly what to do at the right time, as if she was feeling what I was feeling. This was my second baby and my labor was about 7 hours. Compared to the first birth that lasted 42 hours without any help, this made me feel really confident that I can have more beautiful babies in the future. I feel that God has sent Cheryl to our family so He can show us birth can be such a beautiful experience. I'd like many more babies and want her to be my Midwife for all of them! Already miss her. Thank you Cheryl, we love you so so much!!!

  • Let me start with the doctors telling me I was considered "high risk" due to my age (I'm 41) and having a previous cesarean. Cheryl took me on knowing that and understanding emotions were running on high. She was wonderful! Always a quick response to whatever I needed during my pregnancy whether it was needing to clear my head from stress and anxiety to wanting her to explain my options to me. If it wasn't for her I don't think I would have gotten my VBAC. I got the birth that I always wanted. Her energy is so calm and comforting. I would highly recommend her. Her knowledge is worth her weight in gold! My favorite thing was how she made sure she knew my birth plan and helped us stick to it. (when my husband and I were to excited about labor to remember everything). She also helped me SO much during active labor with my focus and breathing in order to keep everything safe and on track. Love her so much!

  • I honestly can't recommend Cheryl highly enough. I hired her for the planned home birth of my second baby. I think she brings something different -- and terrific -- to the table. Every visit was a pleasure. When my daughter was breech well in to my 3rd trimester, she gave me some good advice and breathing room to get her turned head down! And when my daughter was born .... she exceeded my expectations and then some! She let me take the lead and was completely unobtrusive, yet present.

I trusted Cheryl because I knew if there was an issue, she would be the first to point us to the hospital. She is conservative when it comes to the care of you and your baby but does not taking any chances.

Cheryl earned the trust of my husband too. When I was experiencing some postpartum issues he insisted I call her and she was incredibly generous and supportive in her response.

If you live in the area and are interested in a home birth, I would not consider anyone else. She is the absolute best! And extremely well respected in the community. My pediatrician was full of praise. My experience with Cheryl and the birth of my daughter is one I truly wouldn't trade or change for anything.

  • You could not ask for a better person to help lead you through pregnancy and birth. Her compassion and heart know no bounds. When you are under her care she will do everything and anything to ensure everyone is safe and well informed throughout each unique birth experience. Cheryl truly made the birth of my baby girl so special. She goes above and beyond for every family she works with. My husband and I are so grateful for her presence in such a beautiful part of our lives.

UPDATE: Cheryl once again made the birth of our second so beautiful and perfect. She was a wonderful advocate and presence throughout the entire process. She is a gift to all who work with her and a part of our family now.

  • I met Cheryl when with my first baby. We met with several midwives, and something about Cheryl just seemed to fit with us. I knew I wanted a different birth experience from what I had seen my friends have. Cheryl helped us achieve that. I gave birth at home, my way. She guided us through every step of the process and was always there for us. She made me feel safe and in control. It was an amazing birth!! I am now pregnant with my second baby, and I told Cheryl right after I told my husband. She was right here for us again. We cannot wait for her to help us bring baby number two into the world this spring. I wouldn't want anyone else! Cheryl is the best.

  • Calling Cheryl to ask her to be our midwife was the best decision we made this year. Our at home check ups were stress free. She educated my husband and I on natural birth, always displayed patience with us and our toddler. Our water birth was a dream come true. Cheryl's midwife intuition kicked in at our 38 week appointment and said I was having my baby that night so she will stay close by. And not even 5 hours later I was contracting and ready to have my son. She helped guide me through all the pushing. Reminding me to let my body do what it's meant to do. When I felt like giving up, she calmed me, and motivated me to continue being strong. Compared to my first birth in a hospital, Cheryl helped make birthing at home literally feel like a dream. Grateful for you and your sweet, loving spirit. You've eased this Mama's mind and life in more ways than you know! I will forever refer Cheryl to any mama thinking of having a home birth. She's simply the best and the most genuine.

  • Cheryl took me in 4 weeks from my due date after leaving a practice that practically told me I was not mentally strong enough to birth my son. Come his due date, I had a wonderful midwife catching him after 17 minutes of pushing in absolutely beautiful silence. I was a new mother and I undoubtedly couldn’t have had a better birth experience. It’s one of my most empowering and proudest moments, and I’m thankful Cheryl was there to give me the freedom and the voice to make it happen.

  • Some things happen for a reason...

I had to leave my OBGYN’s practice at 37 weeks pregnant, for multiple reasons. I contacted Circle of Life because I was looking for an alternative.

Immediately Cheryl made me feel like I had made the right decision. She has a beautiful way of making you feel protected and at the same time feel empowered. Cheryl truly cares and has an incredible passion for what she does. I absolutely believe that if I hadn’t found her, I would have had a completely different birth experience.

Cheryl is an amazing person who pours her heart and soul into what she does. She is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. I feel so truly blessed to have found her.

I will always cherish the special memories of my birth experience that she helped to bring to fruition. I couldn’t be more grateful to have had Cheryl with us during such an important journey.

  • I thought that I had prepared for birth. I read everything that I could and even attended childbirth education classes at the hospital.

When picking out a provider I choose one that my insurance provider had listed.

From the beginning of my care things seemed very unorganized. In a group of 5 providers they didn't seem to communicate with each other about my care. Often I was told that I was due for labs at my next visit only to be told at my next visit that they would wait until the following visit. This was very confusing to me to say the least. At 30 weeks they realized that my 28 week lab were never drawn and I had not received my Rhogam which I needed due to my blood type being RH negative. The nurse told the physician that I must not have went to the lab because they surely would have given me the script. Don't get me started on the glucose test I had to do twice because the lab never received my blood specimen.

All of this eventually worked it's self out until the end of my pregnancy when my doctor started talking about the size of my baby in comparison to the size of my pelvis. Im 5'5" and 145 not pregnant. They sent me for an ultrasound and said the baby was 8lbs at 37 weeks.

My OB then started dropping hints here and there that I may not be able to push my baby out and stated that we might have to induce early or schedule a cesarean. I started talking to other friends because neither of these were options in my opinion. One friend stated that I should run and run fast. Run where? How was I going to find another OB that was going to take me at 37 weeks.

That's when I was introduced to Cheryl my amazing homebirth midwife. On first contact I cried through the entire phone conversation. I really only expected her to listen and then tell me that she was sorry that there was nothing anyone could do.

What I got instead was a warm compassionate voice on the other line that allowed me to vent about how scared I was. She suggested that we request my medical records so that she could assess my pregnancy so far. When we had our first appointment and sat down to review the records together and complete a risk assessment my heart was beating a million beats per minute. She discussed the risk and benefits of having an out of hospital birth and then assured me that I was a good candidate for a homebirth.

In this one visit she had taken more time to get to know me and my baby then all of the providers at my OB office. I felt a warm since of caring and a strong sense of confidence from her. This is what I needed! We scheduled my next visit and discussed how every appointment would be educational.

During my care with her she taught us what to expect as I went into labor and the different stages but also how my husband could help support me. She also taught us about the different options that we had like water birth, the use of a birth stool, and different comfort tips that could help relieve the pain of labor.

I loved the idea of laboring and birthing in my home, the baby not leaving my side, being able to waive certain things that could be pushed on me in the hospital. Things like having an IV, excessive vaginal exams, and medications that could be routinely given to me and my baby without my permission.

With this new sense of reassurance, we sat back and patiently waited for labor to start.

I was 5 days overdue. Cheryl reassured me that it was only a "expecting date" and that I had a few more days before we needed to consult with a physician or do a special ultrasound to check on baby.

That night I went to bed with what I thought was a belly ache. Completely unaware that my body was preparing for the arrival of my first baby. I woke up a few times uncomfortable and around 1am it hit me that something was going on but reminded myself that I needed to be well rested if it was the real thing. I slept on and off the next few hours. I did my best to rest and relax in between the contractions and let my husband sleep as well.

Around 6am I woke my husband up to give him the news and he called Cheryl. She spent a few minutes on the phone listening to me breathe through contractions and getting information. She then suggested that she come over to check me and baby since it sounded like things were finally progressing.

Suddenly the waves of contractions started getting closer and closer. I don't think I've ever been so relieved to see a face then when Cheryl waked in the door merely a few minutes after we had spoken to her on the phone. She assessed me and the baby and agreed that it was time to get into the tub. I can not tell you how good that water felt.

My husband entered the tub and crawled right behind to help support me as each wave brought the baby down. Cheryl continued to monitor me and the baby and reassured me that my body was doing exactly what it was supposed to.

I started to feel pressure and I wanted to push. This was going a lot faster than I had imagined. Cheryl encouraged that I listen to my body and give a few short gentle pushes. My water broke and I felt my baby moving down. I knew then that my baby was close. I pushed in several positions but being on my hands and knees seemed to work best. I pushed for about 35 minutes when my precious Joey was born in my home, in the water completely healthy.

We stayed in the water enjoying the peace that covered the room. We then moved to my bed and I breastfed for the first time ever. I was completely engulfed in so many emotions.

When we were ready Cheryl did the newborn exam in the bed next to me and we were able to decide whether we wanted the eye antibiotics or the vitamin K. Then she weighed him and we found out that tiny little me pushed out a baby that weighed 9 pounds 3 ounces. Wow my husband and I were shocked! I did it! My body did it!

I'm so grateful for the friend that introduced me to this amazing Midwife. Cheryl will forever be a part of our family.

She supported me when I thought I had no options, she taught me to trust my body and she peacefully helped bring our baby into the world. We will definitely have Cheryl deliver our future babies!
